We live in unprecedented times.
Global shakings. Moral confusion. Widespread deception. Even those with little spiritual awareness can sense that something is accelerating—that history is moving toward a defining moment. Scripture tells us exactly what that moment is: the return of Jesus Christ.
Yet for something mentioned so frequently in the New Testament—nearly one out of every thirty verses—the second coming remains one of the most misunderstood and neglected truths in the Church today. For many believers, it’s either a distant theological idea or a topic reserved for speculation and debate.
But Scripture never presents Christ’s return as a mystery to ignore. It presents it as our blessed hope—a truth meant to awaken us, purify us, and anchor how we live every single day.
Why the Return of Jesus Was Meant to Change How We Live
The return of Jesus was never intended to make believers fearful, passive, or obsessed with timelines. It was meant to produce clarity, urgency, and holy resolve.
From the earliest days of the Church, followers of Jesus lived with a sharp awareness that the King could return at any moment. That expectation shaped how they loved, how they endured hardship, and how boldly they shared the gospel. They didn’t merely wait for His coming—they lived ready for it.
Scripture makes something soberingly clear: every believer will respond to Christ’s return in one of two ways—with confidence or with shame.
This is not about perfection. It’s about devotion. It’s about whether our lives are aligned with what truly matters when eternity breaks into time.
Living Ready in an Age of Distraction and Deception
One of the greatest dangers facing believers today is not open rebellion—it’s subtle indifference. We can believe Jesus is coming while living as if He’s not.
In my newest book, The King Is Coming, I move beyond prophetic speculation to address the most timely and crucial question of our generation: How should we live in light of Christ’s imminent return? Scripture doesn’t leave us guessing. God calls His people to live with holy awe, eternal perspective, and unwavering devotion to Jesus.
When we live ready, our faith sharpens. Our priorities realign. Our courage grows. We stop clinging to temporary comforts and begin investing in eternal rewards. And instead of shrinking back in fear, we stand confident—fully assured that our lives have pleased the King.
Jesus is not returning for a distracted, compromised bride. He is returning for a people awake, purified, and joyfully anticipating His appearing.
The King is coming soon. Are you ready?
The choice—and the preparation—begin now.
